App Troubleshooting Guide

If the app crashes, try these troubleshooting steps before contacting support:

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Force close and reopen the app

Swipe the app away completely and reopen it. Sometimes a one-off memory issue causes a single crash that won't repeat.

iOS: Swipe up from the bottom and hold, then swipe the app up to close it

Android: Tap the recent apps button (square icon) and swipe the app away

2. Check for an app update

Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and check for a pending update—the crash may already be fixed in a newer version.

3. Restart your device

A full restart clears memory and background processes that can sometimes interfere with apps.

iOS: Press and hold the power button and volume button, then slide to power off. Wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

Android: Press and hold the power button, then tap Restart (or Power off, wait 30 seconds, and turn back on).

4. Free up storage

If your device has very little storage remaining (under ~1GB), apps can crash unexpectedly. Delete unused apps, photos, or files to free up space.

Check storage:

  • iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage
  • Android: Settings → Storage

5. Clear app cache or data (platform-specific)

Clearing cached data can resolve crashes without losing your information. The steps vary by platform:

Android:

  1. Open SettingsApps[App Name]Storage
  2. Tap Clear Cache (this won't delete your data, just temporary files)
  3. If the crash persists, try Clear Data (⚠️ this will reset the app like a fresh install)

iOS:

iOS doesn't allow clearing app cache directly, but you can use Offload App to free space while keeping your data:

  1. Open SettingsGeneraliPhone Storage
  2. Find the app and tap Offload App
  3. Reinstall the app from the App Store (your data will be restored)

6. Reinstall the app

Delete the app and reinstall it fresh from the App Store or Google Play Store. This clears any corrupted local data or cache.

7. Check your OS version

The app may require a minimum iOS or Android version. If your operating system is out of date, updating it may resolve the issue.

Check OS version:

  • iOS: Settings → General → About → Software Version
  • Android: Settings → About Phone → Android Version
