Why does Form Health ask if I have cancer (or treatment) in the last 6 months?
In most cases, you can't join Form Health if you have active cancer, or are receiving cancer treatment. You will be able to join 6 months after completing cancer treatment. This is because losing weight and taking weight loss medicines is generally not recommended for patients with cancer or during cancer treatment. Many cancers and treatments cause weight loss, and the body needs appropriate nutrition and reserves to fight the cancer. In addition, the safety of and interactions between chemotherapies and weight loss medicines is not well understood.
However, for certain types of cancer, patients doing "watchful waiting" instead of immediate treatment, or when an oncologist specifically recommends it, Form Health might be appropriate. We would need to check your medical history first. If this represents you, please get in touch with a Care Advisor to find out more.
