Why does Form Health ask if I’ve had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months?

People with overweight and obesity are at increased risk of vascular diseases, including heart attacks and strokes, and prevention of these diseases is an important reason to lose weight. However, if you are just recovering from an acute event and not yet in stable medical condition, weight loss medicines might not be safe for you, and/or exercise without medical supervision could cause harm, so during this recovery time we do not recommend starting a weight loss journey at Form Health. However people with a more distant history of heart disease and stroke do join our virtual clinic and receive comprehensive care to lose weight, improve their health, and even lower the risk of having future heart attacks and strokes.

If you're not sure if these questions apply to you, please call Form Health and a Care Advisor will be able to provide more information and discuss your individual case. In some cases we are able to accept patients if their cardiologist or neurologist is specifically recommending weight loss treatment, and our Care Advisors can facilitate these communications with your current health team.
